Our Vegan Garlic Parmazen Croutons make the most delicious and crunchy breading for these mozzarella sticks with no cheese involved! Vegan Mozzarella Sticks (makes 8-10)⠀ ⠀ Ingredients:⠀
-
1 block vegan mozzarella (~7 or 8 oz)
-
1 1/2 cups Edward & Sons Garlic Parmezen Croutons
-
1/2 cup plant milk
-
3 tbsp ground flax
-
1/4 cup Let’s Do Organic Tapioca Starch⠀
⠀ Instructions:⠀
-
Whisk the plant milk and ground flax together in a bowl and microwave for 30 seconds to thicken. In a second bowl add the tapioca starch. Process the croutons in a food processor or blender to make breadcrumbs and spread on a plate.
-
Cut your vegan mozzarella into sticks, ~2 ½” long & 1/2” wide. Dip each stick into the starch to coat, then into the flax egg, and lastly into the breadcrumbs. Gently pat to help the breadcrumbs stick.
-
Heat 2” of oil in a pot over medium to 365ºF or until the oil bubbles around a wooden skewer. Fry the mozzarella sticks in batches until golden brown, about 1-2 minutes.
-
Strain them from the oil and drain on a paper towel lined plate. Serve hot with marinara sauce for dipping!
