Vegan French Onion Soup

For Savory Onion Bouillon Cubes

Vegan French Onion Soup (Serves 4-6)


  • 3 cubes Edward & Sons Savory Onion cubes dissolved in 6 cups boiling water
  • 1 Tbsp The Wizard's® Gluten Free Vegan Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 Tbsp Extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 Large sweet onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/3 cup Apple cider vinegar
  • 1/8 tsp Ground black pepper
  • 4-6 slices Bread and cheese
  1. Heat oil in a large soup pot. Add onions and cook over medium heat for 20 minutes until softened, stirring frequently.
  2. Add remaining ingredients, except bread and cheese.
  3. Simmer for 20 minutes. If desired, shred cheese and toast bread.
  4. Preheat oven to 350ºF. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.
  5. Place 4-6 oven proof bowls on the baking sheet and ladle soup into the bowls.
  6. Place bread on top of soup and sprinkle with cheese.
  7. Bake for 10 minutes. Broil for 1-2 minutes. Serve immediately.
